Waithera also works as the Director of Operations at Family Empowerment Media where she oversees the operations processes to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and best practices, & ensures grant obligations are successfully and punctually delivered. She is also a trustee for the EA Group- Effective Altruism for Christians.

Before joining CE, Waithera set up and oversaw the operations department (finance, HR, legal, and grant management functions) at Siasa Place, the largest youth-serving organisation in Kenya.
